Rotavirus belongs to the gastrointestinal virus family. Rotavirus is one of the main pathogens causing infantile diarrhea in autumn and winter, which mainly infects intestinal epithelial cells, resulting in cell damages and diarrhea. Rotavirus proliferates in cytoplasm of intestinal villus and destroys cells. It contains large amounts of virus in shedding dead cells defecated with feces.
